We have XX days until Christmas, so we can start planning our holiday parties now, right?

Just because summer is drawing to a close, doesn’t mean it should be the end of the cocktail season! The beach is not the only place to enjoy a perfectly mixed drink. How do you think Santa stays warm up in the north pole? It all starts with a liquor coat. ;)

So, as the nights draw in, and all of the spice flavors start popping up on menus and in candles, I think we should get a head start on our holiday cocktails, so we are fully prepared to host our Winter gatherings this season. From the simple margarita recipe to mimosas, martinis and winter mules, read on for a collection of some of the finest winter party drinks around.

The Moscow Mule Punch

One of the finest winter cocktails to come from Russia! This is an amazing recipe that takes just 10 minutes to prepare and serve, and it will make up to 8 servings.

The ingredients needed for this party cocktail are:
  • 4 cups of ice
  • 4 cups of ginger beer

The Snowflake Martini

A guaranteed hit at any winter party. This recipe is ideal when you find yourself struggling with below-freezing temperatures and you need the extra warmth from within. It takes just 5 minutes to prepare and produces 1 serving.

You will need:
  • 3 oz. of white chocolate liqueur
  • 2 oz. of vanilla vodka
  • 2 tablespoons of heavy cream
  • 1/2 a cup of ice
  • 1 lemon wedge (for the rim)
  • 1/3 cup of white sanding sugar (for the rim)

With the lemon wedge, wet the rim of the martini glass, then dip the glass in sanding sugar for coating. Take a cocktail shaker to mix the white chocolate liqueur with heavy cream and vodka. Fill a shaker with ice and shake properly. Strain the mixture into prepared glasses, add a lemon wedge to garnish the rim and serve immediately.

Pomegranate Mimosas

If you prefer a sweet and lightly tart drink during the winter party season, then this drink makes for a perfect choice. Pomegranates themselves offer a wide range of health benefits, meaning the cocktail may even offer some immune-boosting powers to combat those common winter colds. The ruby-red color of the mimosas makes for a perfect winter holiday drink, ideal for any celebration. The recipe takes just 5 minutes to prepare.

You will require the following ingredients:
  • 1 cup of sweetened pomegranate juice
  • 1 bottle of your favorite champagne
  • 1 cup of pomegranate seeds for garnishing
Take your champagne flutes and fill with ¼ cup of the sweetened pomegranate juice before topping up with the champagne. Garnish the drinks with the pomegranate seeds.

Feel free to change the names of these cocktails up a bit to fit the holiday purpose they are serving. All of these drinks can easily be recalculated as Autumn drinks. However, there are many other winter party cocktails like Pumpkin Pie Bourbon, Holiday Spiced Mulled Wine, Sugar Cookie Martinis (extra fun when you add a cookie garnish) and Werther’s Hot Toddies.
