When you think about a weekend in Vegas you think of elaborate shows, fancy dinners maybe even getting a little lucky (at the tables of course). Whatever level of service you have experienced, Las Vegas will top it.

Growing up in Las Vegas has instilled a certain hotel expectation. I almost feel spoiled living in the hotel capital because other places I visit have high expectations to meet. I’ve seen the ins and outs of hotel operations and the guests experience always comes first.

Vegas is glamorous and we pride ourselves on that. The glitz and glam is no facade, so here are a few things you should expect when staying on the Las Vegas strip.


Friendly and Helpful Staff

The staff who work at the hotel that receives you and checks you in should be friendly and helpful. If you have a problem with your room, they will be able to do something about it, and there will always be someone at the desk in case a customer experiences a complaint in the middle of the night. A friendly check-in desk puts a nervous traveler immediately at ease, so look out for ‘friendly and helpful’ in the reviews!


Convenience

The hardest part about staying in Las Vegas is the number of decisions you will have to make. There are so many exhibits to see, restaurants to try, games to play, stores to shop at, and drinks to mix. Narrowing down specifically what you want and where to do it is not a concept that should be overlooked. If something is not in your hotel, you are just a hop, skip, and a jump away from another hotel that offers it.


However, you are not alone in this. Every hotel has a concierge desk with employees knowledgable of the surrounding area.

Solid Safety Measures

Since the gaming industry is SO big in Las Vegas, you can be sure there is surveillance at every corner in a hotel. Every hotel has a sense of safety about it. At the very least, all rooms come equipped with a lock your door when you go into your room and have the only key able to open it, outside of the person at the front desk.

But above that, there will always be safe in your room, just in case you have valuables you can’t carry around with you. You should feel safe with your luggage in the room. Most of the housekeepers work in teams so there is accountability on all fronts. If you're super insecure about that concept (hey, we've all had rough experiences), check the safety reviews of a hotel. Purchase the traveler's insurance before you go; you don’t want to be staying somewhere these options aren’t catered for!

Tipping

Pull out those $1 bills y'all. You should expect to tip. Tourism is a heavy tipping industry and Las Vegas is no exception. However, if you go to Las Vegas, you will receive exceptional service that warrants tipping. Consider this your pre-warning that tipping is expected. Most of the Las Vegas strip workers are paid minimum wage because they make it up in tips.


Planes, Trains, and Rideshares

In a world of rideshare programs, getting a ride somewhere is the least of a traveler's worries in Las Vegas. Being near an airport is so important, especially if your main industry to collect capital is tourism. You want the guest experience to be as seamless as possible, starting from when their plane hits the ground. 

It’s why any hotel near an airport is important. Most hotels know having an airport nearby is a critical selling point for a lot of guests stay, especially if they travel for business a lot. This is a universal accommodation, so even a hotel near Des Moines airport with shuttle knows proximity is critical. Mccarren airport's placement is prime to the Las Vegas strip. It’s close to the main transportation route and often times hotels offer shuttles or car service.

You might not realize this but even if you're not staying at one hotel, they are still fighting for your benefits. That is why all of these hotels have different themes and concepts. Las Vegas is all about the overstimulating experience but in the best way. We do everything in our power to keep you in our hotel. Travelling is all about the adventure, isn’t it? The more you travel the world, the more you learn, and you love how it feels to get out and about on foreign soil. And for most of us, that means booking a room in a hotel and expecting to be able to sleep soundly and safely the whole night long.
